Yay for Spring sunshine!  I'm taking in every minute of it.  I'm a California girl, so I'm most comfortable in sandals and breezy skirts.

On a different note, let's talk books!  While on vacation I had time to read two books and I'd love to hear if any of you have read either of these and what your thoughts are.  First, I read 50 Shades of Grey by E.L. James.  I have to admit that I don't see what all the hype is about.  I didn't connect with it.  It was poorly written, had a week plot, uninteresting characters and was very repetitive.  I found myself rolling my eyes more than once while reading this book.  I love a good romance novel, but this one was just not for me.  I'd love to hear your thoughts?  Have you read it and do you love it or hate it?

I also read The 5 Love Languages by Dr. Gary Chapman and it was totally fascinating.  The author has an interesting perspective on love.  The concept is that people feel and express love in different ways, and because of this some relationships do not last because they are not communicating in ways that are understood by their partner.  Dr. Chapman suggests that by learning the "love language" of your partner, you can express your love in a more impactful and meaningful way.  This book made me look at love in an entirely different way than I had before.  I highly recommend this book to anyone.  And I'd love to hear your thoughts if you've read it.

Now, the mission is to find a new book that I will love.  Some of my favorite books are The Hunger Games, The Art of Racing in the Rain, and Water for Elephants.
Any suggestions?

xo, Shannon
